It is a truth universally acknowledged that life has a tendency to suck. How else would it remain interesting enough to live through? People spend much of their time and energy lamenting their own misfortunes, and laughing at those of others. Call it masochism, schadenfreude, a rose by any other name: without the stupid mistakes and ensuing drama to make life fun (or at least interesting, and amusing as long as the joke's on someone else), we'd be just as well-off hibernating year round.

Characters here, who are less than perfect to say the least, will be based on statements from fmylife.com. While we have no official set of rules, we assume that you understand the basics of internet courtesy, have a grasp on the English language, and can exercise general common sense. Activity checks will be done every two weeks, and at those points you will need to have either a journal post or have participated in a scene. As we don't have separate subcommunities for lyrics/random posts/etc, we will count such posts towards activity checks; however, this does not mean it is okay to pop up once every two weeks with the lyrics to your favorite Paramore song and be completely inactive otherwise. Threads and scene logs can both be posted in the main community, ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) wickerpark -- if you are not comfortable posting your logs publically for whatever reason, you can send them by PM, leave them in the dropbox, or put them in a post filtered to the mod journal.
There are currently no character limits, but we do ask that you not take on more that you can realistically handle. If you are interested in bringing in a new character but haven't been active with your existing characters, or we feel that the character you are applying with is too similar to the ones you currently have in game, you application will be rejected.
